Getting Your Slice of the Online Pie with a Digital Agency
If you don’t think you need to employ a digital agency, read this. UK consumers spent £33 billion online in 2009, according to the BBC. And it’s easy to see why: the simplicity and convenience of the internet has massively increased the amount of people buying anything from food to televisions online. All the same, £33 billion’s a pretty hefty amount. What’s your company doing to earn itself a piece of that pie.
The entire world has gone digital. Online is the new offline. The good news is that the growth of online retail represents a brilliant opportunity for retailers. For small companies without a visible high street presence, this is especially true. The internet makes everyone equal. At the very least, everyone has the potential to be. Just ask your digital agency! All of this means that even the smallest of companies can reach new clients as long as they have a decent digital strategy.
It’s an unfortunate fact that too many smaller companies fall into the trap of neglecting their digital strategy. At this point it is worth mentioning that owning a website does not constitute a digital strategy. Do you see any point in owning a website that doesn’t get updated, isn’t easy to use and is even harder to find.
Smaller companies often find that the investment required to employ a digital agency can be overwhelming. But it’s always worth investing in a good digital agency, because the return on your investment is only ever limited to demand for whatever goods or services you sell.
It can seem scary to allow a digital agency to manage everything about your web strategy. However, consider your digital strategy as a well-oiled machine with many components like web design, web development, SEO, e-mail marketing, PPC and copy-writing, amongst others. When just one of these cogs stops working, the whole machine could stall. trying to find an individual to manage each cog of the machine in-house would cost you a lot in terms of time and money, and might not even work anyway. Lucky then that your digital agency can manage all of this in one company. Think of it like this, you’d hire a company that could design you an attractive and user-friendly website, make sure it was easily accessible for Google robots and marketed well on an ongoing basis, wouldn’t you? And that’s exactly why you can’t afford not to use a digital agency.
